Driver Requirements and Conditions

All drivers must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license

The Dodge Viper has a manual (stick) transmission.  Drivers must be proficient in the operationin operation of manual transmission.  We encourage learning on the track but not at the expense of my clutch and transmission.

No alcoholic beverages of any kind at permitted prior or during events.  No substances are permitted that could cause impairment of any kind (cannabis, etc).  Do not come to an event hungover.  This is a zero tolerance policy.  Violators will be removed from the event without refund.  Please notify the administrator if you have prescribed medications to ensure you are fit to perform at an event.

Helmets are required for all events. It is preferred that all drivers bring their own helmet (SA 2015 or newer).  Please notify an administrator if you are unable to bring your own helmet and we can arrange a helmet rental.  Ear protection is highly recommended.

Drivers must have closed toed shoes.  Auto racing shoes are highly recommended.  If you do not have racing shoes then please wear thin (less wide) shoes as most racing vehicles have pedals that are fairly close together.

Drivers must have long pants and long shirts while driving.  No shorts are permitted.  Auto fire suits are highly recommended.  

It is the driver’s responsibility to stay hydrated and nourished during events.  Driving on track is physically and mentally demanding.

Check your attitudes at the gate.  Rent My Viper holds learning events suitable for all skill levels.  Drivers and attendees are expected to be respectful of hosts, instructors, other drivers, and themselves.  Everyone advances at a different pace, go at your own pace without expectation.  If a driver is not responding to instruction and creates a dangerous situation you may be removed from the event.

Passengers may or may not be permitted based on the rules of each venue.  Please inquire with an administrator if you wish to bring a passenger to an event.  Generally, those in beginner run groups are not permitted to have passengers other than an instructor.
